Eibsee Elopement
The minute S. realized that she wanted to have an adventure with J. will probably stick in our memories forever. It was one of the first things she told us on that beautiful summer morning. S. works as an emergency medical technician and one day she got called into work to attend an old lady who was living in a nursing home. The minute she entered her room she realized that the room somewhat felt a bit cold and “unpersonal”. But then she spotted the photo on the bed stand and her face began to light up and she felt the warmth coming back into the room. This photo captured the old woman with her husband on their wedding day. It is stories like those which make every single elopement so uniquely beautiful.
S&J already had their big traditional wedding last year but they always had the feeling that something was missing and that they wanted a day perfectly designed for the two of them. And that’s exactly what they did.
We started bright and early and even though the sun hasn’t risen fully above the mountains both of them greeted us with a big smile on their faces and excitement in their eyes. We started off by strolling around the lake and soaking in the beautiful views before we stopped at the first location. It’s a small little lake with a perfect view of the highest mountain in the German Alps (Zugspitze). The two of them instantly felt comfortable in front of our cameras and they took their time to really embrace the moment.
After completing our loop around lake Eibsee, with several photo stops along the way, we headed off towards our next destination. We took the gondola to reach the top of the mountain and both of them were amazed by the stunning scenery around them. And last but not least after heading back down again, we had to share a few wonderful moments with their beloved four-legged family member (who was so excited to meet everyone and enjoyed the sun).
Honestly, the best part about elopements at sunrise is that there is the possibility to enjoy well known places all for yourselves. We normally wouldn’t recommend famous places like Lake Eibsee because of all the tourists but if you opt for sunrise or a less busy season chances are there you can enjoy those beautiful areas without a big crowd watching you.
And even though Eibsee is one of the most famous lakes in the German Alps there was no one there when we started the day. This meant S&J could really enjoy every moment of their little adventure without having to worry about other people.
