What vendors should you hire for your elopement

If you ever talked to us about having an elopement you probably know that we like to say: You only need two people for an elopement - you and your partner. And while that might be true, you can add as many other vendors as you like to your elopement. Because after all, it is your wedding and only you should decide how you want to celebrate it.

But let's just assume you want to incorporate a few other vendors into your elopement day but don't really know where to start and what makes sense. We are happy to help. Those are just our suggestions and there are of course many more vendors that you could hire for your elopement.

    Photographer/ Videographer

That's often one of the more obvious and first vendors couples hire for their elopement day. Especially on elopements where no one else other than the couple is present, photos/ video are so precious because you can share your experience with your family and friends afterwards. A lot of photographers/videographers also offer planning assistance and might help you with things such as: finding a location, creating a timeline, vendor recommendations, activity ideas, etc. This makes it easier to decide which other vendors you want to hire.

    Elopement planner

Yes, we just said that elopement photographers/videographers might help you with planning your elopement. But there is still a very distinct difference between planning assistance and having an actual planner who not only helps you with a few bits and pieces here and there but who is there for you every step of the way and manages everything on the day itself, too. In fact, we wrote a whole blogpost about the differences and why it is a very good idea to hire an expert in planning your elopement. So go check that out after you are done reading this post.

    Hair and Make-Up

You don't want to take care of your Hair and Make-Up on that day because you know that you might be too nervous or you want to try something that you don't feel like you could do on your own? Then adding a professional who takes care of all that might be a good idea. Getting your Hair + Make-Up done is also often a time in which you can relax and enjoy a bit of luxury that you probably don't experience every day.

    Celebrant

Most of our couples who come from overseas take care of all the legal business at home and spend the day of their Alps elopement with all the things they really like. But a lot of them also want a ceremony that makes the whole day a bit more wedding-ish. That's where a commitment ceremony comes in. It's not a ceremony where you get officially married because unlike in the US for example you need often need a designated space for that and an official who does this. It is more a ceremony that celebrates your unique love, a ceremony where you can add rituals such as exchanging vows, exchanging your rings or writing down your wishes and burning them in a small little fire. The options are endless and the celebrant will make sure that this will really be YOUR ceremony.

    Flowers and Decoration

If you plan on doing a ceremony or if you want to have a spot that is nicely decorated, where you can exchange your vows, hiring experts who help you with this is highly recommended. Of course you can carry up all the decorations, flowers etc. yourselves (and we will help you with that), but this day shouldn't be about setting a new record on how much you can lift and more about enjoying the moment and being present. When you close your eyes and think about your wedding day, do you see flowers and maybe a beautifully decorated table or picnic setting? Yes, we often have those pictures in mind if we think about weddings because that's exactly what most magazines will show us. But there is nothing wrong with having a bit of fancy decoration on your elopement and like we always say: pick the things you like about traditional weddings and incorporate them into your elopement.

    Private Chef, Picnic

Yes, eating is very very important and often overlooked when it comes to planning your elopement. But you will realize that you are starving when all the tension melts away and oh voila almost out of thin air a picnic setting with all of your favorite snacks will appear or a chef will present you a board with the most amazing finger-food. Trust us, we never ever heard couples say that they regretted hiring someone who will take care of their dinner, lunch or whatever meals you want to eat on that day. And if there ever is a day to try something that you always wanted to try but didn't find the right restaurant or it never worked out at home, it's this day for sure.

    Music

Music makes everything better, it really does. Even cleaning the bathroom or wiping the floor is so much more fun with the right tunes. And what is true for cleaning your house is also true for your elopement day. Imagine dancing around during your commitment ceremony to your favorite genre of music. And yes, you could just carry a soundbox with you and play music via this device but live music (and I think we all agree on that) is just something else. It guarantees goosebumps when you exchange your vows and it will make you smile even more when you pop the champagne and celebrate your love.

Now off you go, start planning your dream day and don't hesitate to ask us for more advise , we are more than happy to help.
