Elopement in Austria

No, you don’t have to go to Switzerland or the Dolomites to see spectacular mountain formations and relax at magical alpine lakes. Sure, those areas are one of the most stunning places you can visit in the Alps, but Austria definitely has something to say about that as well.

And that’s exactly why M&D chose Austria as their location for their elopement. And they also decided to bring their closest family with them (including their adorable kids).

The two of them started the day bright and early with a sunrise hike to a nearby lake. Although the sun didn’t really greet us in its full glory on that morning, the fog drifting alongside the mountains made for a mystical atmosphere nonetheless. And even better: no one else was there to be seen and the two of them could enjoy their morning coffee & tea in complete silence, overseeing the beautiful alpine lake and the towering mountains around them.

After our morning adventure we drove back to their hotel, where they separated and got ready for their official ceremony. Because unlike in Germany for example, it is possible to have a legally binding ceremony outside for your elopement in austria. But before the ceremony started, they wanted to share a very private and intimate moment together and therefore decided to have a “first look”.

M told us afterwards, that she was not nervous the whole time, just right up until she stood only a few feet away from D and then all of a sudden, she felt everything and it got very emotional.

The ceremony took place on the balcony of the hotel and we would say, views for an official ceremony don’t get much better than that. But we let you be the judge of that and enjoy this wonderful elopement in Austria.
