Elopement at Lago di Braies

Hold on, hold on, isn’t Lago di Braies this super touristy place where you shouldn’t go to, to have an intimate and private elopement, we hear you say? While that might be true for most parts of the day, there is still a possibility to enjoy this wonderful location without too many tourists around you.

As so many times before, we started our day with A&B before the first rays of sunshine hit this beautiful planet. We met them in complete darkness in front of their hotel and went back inside for some getting ready photos. You could already feel their excitement for their day ahead and for their elopement at the magical Lago di Braies. But before that, they had a very special plan as they did not want to have their first look in front of the hotel (or even inside) but wanted to drive to Lago di Braies without seeing each other and then celebrating their first look on the jetty at Lago di Braies.

Lago di Braies gives you the opportunity to rent the whole jetty in the morning and enjoy 90 minutes (as of 2023) of freedom and have the Lake all to yourselves. And that’s exactly what A&B did for their elopement at Lago di Braies. After we successfully arrived at the Lake and the two of them shared a very private first look. We took some more amazing couple photos on the jetty before taking two of the boats to explore the lake and the wonders around it.

But because this wasn’t our only location for the day we headed back to the car and took off towards our second Location for the day. And it couldn’t have been a better one. Right in front of a beautiful mountain formation, the two of them enjoyed their picnic before we took the gondola to the top. And is if that day wasn’t already packed with emotional highlights, the two had also decided to get officially married here in the Dolomites. And because it is mandatory in Italy to have witnesses for the official marriage, we had that honour at the end of the day.

We hope this serves as an inspiration for your own Lago di Braies elopement and if you have any questions for us, feel free to reach out.
