Mountain elopement in Germany
Every time our alarm rings in the middle of the night, we just know that this is going to be another adventurous day and are excited to get going. And it was no different this time, when we headed off to Berchtesgaden for the elopement of A&D
We always say that if couples can spend 40, 50 or even 60k for their big wedding, you can also treat yourselves to something you wouldn’t normally do. That’s why A&D decided to spend a few days in a luxury hotel with a Michelin star restaurant and a view that’s not too bad either. So when we arrived in front of their hotel suite the two of them greeted us with big smiles and this excitement in their eyes. They wanted us to be a part of their getting ready and we always feel privileged to have the opportunity to be with them from the get-go and to document their full day.
While A had her hair and make-up done upstairs, D got ready in the first floor of their suite. Both of them had so many personal details included into their wedding attire and it was important to them, to really celebrate that moment. Before we all jumped into the car, they shared a very private first look in their hotel suite.
Both of them told us that they had spent the last few days exploring the city of Munich and were just in awe how beautiful nature can be, when they drove to Berchtesgaden. But they weren’t prepared for the beauty that they experienced, once we reached our first destination. A magical alpine lake! Although we didn’t have a sunrise on that day, the fog drifting over the mountain tops sure made up for it. And we even had a few glimpses of the sun for their picnic right at the lake. It was such an incredible feeling, exploring the area around the lake, stopping here and there for some photos, before finding the perfect spot for their private vows.
When it started to rain, we went back to their hotel where they met their kids and D’s parents. It was perfect timing because once they all finished their second getting ready the rain had stopped and we all decided to do a short little hike to another alpine lake. It was so clear to see that A&D enjoyed every single second of their day and that they loved spending so much time together.
When we sent them their sneak peek a couple of days later, this was their reaction:
“Thank you so much Max and Lisa! We are in LOVE with these!!
This is exactly what I pictured having as our wedding elopement photographs to be.”
