Switzerland Elopement in Lauterbrunnen
I don’t think there is any word other than “extraordinary” that can describe how this experience for L&R was in the Swiss Alps and how incredible their elopement in Lauterbrunnen turned out.
We (and when I say “we”, I specifically mean Anne) love to plan elopements like this one. An Elopement where you instantly realize that the couple just wants to have an amazing time together and wants to experience something they have never experienced before. L&R knew that they wanted to do something special for their wedding and that’s why they chose Switzerland, the Swiss Alps and to be precise Lauterbrunnen for their elopement. And to be honest - they could not have chosen a better location for that adventure!
It all started like many of our elopements start in the summer - bright and early before the first rays of sunshine kissed this beautiful and stunning location in the Alps. They both wanted to capture their whole day and therefore wanted to include not only their ceremony and couple photos but also their getting ready and first look. And because it was pitch black darkness outside we had to opt for an indoor first look before taking one of the first trains to reach our first location for the day. High above the valley with an incredible view of Lauterbrunnen they had the spot all to themselves and we all started by shaking of the early rise sleepiness and had so much fun during those first couple photos. We always make it clear to every couple that we are not here to just capture their couple poses but that we are here to capture their day with all the small little details, all the fun parts and all the experiences they have. So we laughed, ran, jumped and hiked!!
We took the first gondola to get even higher and because we know the location pretty well, we had the perfect spot for L&R to say their vows. And while overlooking the incredible mountain ranges and with just a few cows being there as their witnesses the two of them shared some very personal words and I (Max) really felt the emotion that came with them - sometimes even we can’t stop a few drops of tears running down our cheeks 🤷
But that wasn’t the end of the day (not even close), because when we headed back down their closest family and friends already waited at their Airbnb and they had a very intimate ceremony that really celebrated the love L&R share for each other. And because everyone needs to eat at some point Anne organized an incredible brunch for all of them and there were many laughs shared and many stories told. All of us continued our journey together and we walked a long the river to enjoy the beautiful weather and the scenery.
We always recommend having a short break when you opt for the full-day package as this usually gives you a time to get a bit more relaxed. L&R also chose to have a short little break after their walk along the river and that’s why we met them again at their hotel, where we all had more fun and L&R and their closest family and friends enjoyed an incredible dinner to end their even more incredible day!
