Lord of the Rings inspired elopement in Austria

We absolutely love fall and we love doing elopements during that time of the year. But when we got this inquiry into our inbox we were even more excited! We’ll let you know why in just a sec.

C&J inquired for their fall elopement in Austria a couple of months ago and we this little (or should we say precious) inquiry found its way into our inbox we were instantly so excited. Both of them are HUGE LOTR fans and they wanted their elopement to kind of match that mystical & magical atmosphere. That’s why we looked into destinations that perfectly suit that feeling and have a mix between forest, mountains and water.

When we met on the day itself C was coated in a very elf-like coat and the hair and make-up she wore looked straight out of one of Peter Jackson’s films. And like this we set off on our journey to destroy the one ring…. oops sorry, wrong script. We didn’t set off to destroy the one ring but rather to find the perfect spot for exchanging the two rings. On our little hike we past several spots for wonderful photos and when we got to our destination the two of them opted for a spot a bit more shaded from the sun and away from the people that were also on the hiking trail. They exchanged their personal vows (this vow book 😍) and afterwards exchanged their rings. C even put on another fairy-like dress for the rest of the day.

We explored the area around this wonderful waterfall and took even more photos before heading back to the beginning of the trail. And right there C&J were surprised with their picnic and a Lord of the Rings inspired wedding cake. You can probably imagine how wide their grins were when they saw the set up and their cake.

We let them enjoy this very peaceful moments before we headed off to our last location of the day and to one of the big highlights! C always wanted to ride a horse on her wedding day and she wanted to share this very special adventure with J. And that is exactly why Anne made sure that this dream would not stay unfulfilled!!

Before this adventured started, C put on her coat again and when the horseback riding started she really looked like someone Peter Jackson could cast for his next film. It truly was the highlight of the day for them and we had so much fun taking photos with the horses (btw: we 100% made sure that the horses were treated with utmost respect and Anne searched for a stable where the welfare of the animals was guaranteed all the time).

“Everything about our experience with Nomadic Hearts was exceptional. From the planning with Anne to the day-of experience with Lisa and Max, they’re a seamless team. The vendors they recommended were also exceptional. I loved my makeup and hair with Laura, our picnic was personalized with an amazing lord of the rings cake, and Anne made my dreams come true with a horse back ride in my ridiculously large wedding dress.”
