Winter Elopement in Austria

During our first call, K&X shared that they didn’t envision their elopement taking place in a warm climate but instead dreamed of a winter elopement in the Austrian Alps. They wanted to experience snow – and K was especially overjoyed that there was plenty of it on their wedding day. They envisioned a celebration away from the crowds, wanting to fully immerse themselves in those precious moments together. This is exactly why they chose the Austrian Alps. Unlike places like the Dolomites or parts of Switzerland, Austria still offers spots that haven't become Instagram hotspots. Of course, it's always challenging to completely avoid crowds and have a place all to yourself, but Austria gives you a better chance of doing so without compromising on breathtaking views and beautiful landscapes.
We met K&X early in the morning for their official ceremony by a lake. Although the sun decided not to make an appearance, it was still a wonderful morning, with fog drifting over the lake, creating a magical atmosphere all its own. Another plus was that there were no other people around, allowing K&X to fully celebrate this special moment in complete privacy.
After taking some photos by the lake, we set off for their next adventure. K&X had decided not to exchange their private vows during the official ceremony, but instead to do so at a separate, stunning location – a completely frozen alpine lake with majestic mountains in the background. Once the two of them found the perfect spot, we gave them all the privacy they needed to say their vows to each other. We then continued our walk around the lake, stopping at various photo spots and enjoying the beauty of nature all around us.
But this was far from our last adventure of the day! During one of the first planning calls, K had mentioned that she would absolutely love to include horses in their elopement. And what could be better than a horse-drawn carriage ride through the breathtaking winter scenery of the Austrian Alps? They had so much fun during the ride, and for K, it was a dream come true – winter, snow, horses, mountains – it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Our final stop of the day and another highlight we had planned for K&X was their private dinner in the evening, prepared by a personal chef right in their chalet. Their eyes sparkled as they saw the food being prepared for them, and at that moment, we said our goodbyes, allowing them to enjoy the rest of the evening together.
